2021 - 2023 SIOMediC : Security for the Internet of Connected Medical Objects

Region Centre-Val de Loire

Digital health, and in particular Connected Medical Devices (CMDs), are booming. Unfortunately, the many and recurring vulnerabilities of these devices lead to major confidentiality problems for medical data, and significant dangers for people's physical integrity. Our work aims to make DMCs safer (free from internal bugs) and more secure (resistant to external attacks). To protect DMCs from external attacks, we want to propose new protocols for interconnecting DMCs in their environment (hospital or home) and access control models, adapted to these different uses (often wireless). We also hope to be able to provide guarantees that the code (programs) embedded in the DMCs are free of vulnerabilities, as are the protocols and protection mechanisms we have added to them. The main deliverables will be reusable software components, authentication/identification protocols and verified or proven protection mechanisms and software codes.
